Caring for an older dog means finding routines that work for them. Alison shares her experience of Bladder Support for Dogs and why its sprinkle capsules make a convenient addition to Buddy’s meals.

For Alison Pashley, a supplement needs to fit comfortably into her dog’s daily life. Buddy has no teeth, so being able to add Bladder Support for Dogs to his food is especially useful.
“I just open the capsules and sprinkle them on his chicken and rice and he gobbles it down,” she says.
That straightforward mealtime routine is part of the quieter life Alison and Buddy enjoy together in Orkney.

Meet Buddy
Buddy is a Jack Russell–Dachshund cross who was 13 when Alison shared his story. She adopted him at four, just three months before moving to Orkney.
From a difficult past to a peaceful home
Previously used as a stud dog, Buddy had been ill-treated before finding his home with Alison.
Her own life had once involved travelling around the world for work. Now, the former volunteer worker and aerobics instructor enjoys a gentler pace, watching cruise ships from her window overlooking the water between mainland Orkney and Shapinsay.
“Nothing happens fast here, but me and Buddy love it.”
Why Alison looked for bladder support
When Buddy began having accidents on the kitchen floor, Alison wanted to support his bladder health.
The practical effects were clear at home. While arranging a replacement floor, she explained to the fitter that she needed a surface she could wipe clean after Buddy’s accidents.
Alison already bought supplements for herself from Healthspan, including a bladder-support product. That experience prompted her to look for a supplement formulated specifically for dogs.
She chose Bladder Support for Dogs.
A format that suits Buddy
The supplement is designed to support healthy bladder function and urinary tract health. It comes in chicken-flavoured capsules that can be opened and sprinkled over a dog’s food.
For Alison, that format removes the difficulty of giving a tablet to a dog without teeth. The contents go straight onto Buddy’s familiar chicken-and-rice meal, which he readily eats.
Since introducing the supplement, Alison reports an improvement in Buddy’s bladder habits.
It has become a manageable addition to caring for her older companion, fitting into the meals and routines they already share.
