For Juliet Watling, one of the pleasures of life near Bude in Cornwall is getting outdoors with her dog. Beach walks and visits to local gardens are activities they can share — but taking Snowy out hasn’t always been straightforward.
Friendly and energetic, he could also be nervous around unfamiliar people and dogs. Juliet often found herself anticipating what he might do next.

Meet Snowy
Juliet welcomed rescue dog Snowy into her family two years before sharing their story. A West Highland White Terrier cross, he was four at the time of the interview.
A lively arrival in a quieter household
Snowy’s enthusiasm was a challenge indoors, too. Millie, Juliet’s older Scottie, was 12 when he arrived and didn’t share his appetite for constant play.
Snowy repeatedly tried to get her attention, leaving Juliet looking for a way to help him settle.
Her first attempt with a supplement from another company wasn’t successful. Its strong smell put Snowy off his food, making it difficult to include in his routine.
Already familiar with Healthspan through supplements she bought for herself and her husband, Juliet then discovered MagiCalm® for Dogs.
Introducing MagiCalm®
MagiCalm® is a beef-flavoured tablet formulated with vets to support calmer behaviour and emotional balance. Its ingredients include magnesium, B vitamins, amino acids and chamomile.
After introducing it, Juliet noticed that Snowy was more settled around the house and less persistent with Millie.
“As a result, Millie and Snowy became friends and companions.”
Millie has since sadly passed away, but Juliet remembers the companionship the two dogs were able to enjoy.
More enjoyable time outdoors
Juliet also observed changes when they left the house. Snowy seemed more attentive, and she felt better able to rely on him around other dogs.
His sociable nature remained. He still wanted to greet other dogs and invite them to play, but Juliet found that he was more willing to move on afterwards.
For her, that has made shared outings easier and more enjoyable.
“We’ve got a much calmer dog and it’s been much easier to take him out and about and do things with him.”
Snowy still brings plenty of personality to their days together. Juliet’s experience is that his energy has become easier to manage, giving them more opportunities to enjoy the places she loves.
